omniscius 36
The Mississauga Hounds have acquired Teemu Laine as a rental for the rest of the season before heading into the VHLM Draft. The Mississauga Hounds have struggled massively since their championship season. On 68 games this season they have posted a 11-45-12 record for 34 points on the season. Since joining, Mississauga's play hasn't gotten any better going 0-6-0. In 6 games, he's amassed a plus/minus of -5 with 3 blocked shots averaging about 15.67 minutes per game. Fortunately, it seems as though Laine is a pretty disciplined defender with zero penalty minutes thus far. He's yet to score a point, but the team in general has produced a ton. Expectations are low but we'll see how his game develops into next season. Despite this, Teemu Laine has been touted as a fast offensive minded defencemen who likes to either pass or drive out of his own zone to start the offence. Teemu Laine looks like a potential powerplay threat once he can translate his skillset to a higher level. He's already been given minutes on the penalty kill and it'll be interesting to see if he can develop to be a solid two way defencemen. With this being a sort of try-out both for Mississauga and the wider league watching him as the draft continues to loom larger.
