1.) Well, we tried! We didn't go down without a fight in the Wild Card series against Riga, but unfortunately didn't take any W's home. We got a little taste of playoffs! How was the experience for your player?

 

2.) Phantoms GM Kinnard has been spotted in a few other organizations offices... Could this mean we will see some improvement coming to the roster?

 

3.) Goalie Amir Redzic is coming up on his final season. Prior to Ondrej Vencko taking over as starting goalie, what was your favorite thing about Redzic on the ice?

 

4.) Now that the off-season for us has started, where has your player been spotted? The bars...casinos...the beach...the golf course?

 

5.) What is one of your favorite pastries?

- Well, we got further than anyone even suspected. I think we put up at least a proper show on the ice. But now, we need to solidify as a legitimate rising threat for the playoffs!!

We smelled blood. And my player adored it!

-Ho. Ly. Shit.

I can't believe it is happening. Was it really him? Damn. We're gonna be so back.

3.) Goalie Amir Redzic is coming up on his final season. Prior to Ondrej Vencko taking over as starting goalie, what was your favorite thing about Redzic on the ice?

- His Bosnian temper. I adore how he lets his emotions flow. When Amir reaches boiling point, it is truly an eruption of anger. However, when he has a very solid evening, his euphoric aura could feed families. He is a passionate guy.

4.) Now that the off-season for us has started, where has your player been spotted? The bars...casinos...the beach...the golf course?

- Nah, he hates golf. I am not sure, really. He hasn't been answering my calls, lately. He is probably just drinking around, though.

5.) What is one of your favorite pastries?

- For its versatility, I'd say buns. It's universal, we have many kinds of 'em, I like those.

6.) Do you carry cash in your wallet or plastic only?

- Plastic only? Didn't know you call it that. But no, I don't USUALLY carry cash around. I try to use my card as much as possible. And by not having cash, I can also send beggars in the street to fuck off without any bad feeling about lying. Hah!

2. Multiple trades find the team with a new look next season, how do you feel about the additions of Lucy Leitner @LucyXpher and Matteo Stefano @mmrs617?

 

3. With these additions there was some subtraction. We lost our prospect Dog Jagr @koty_k. Anything you want to say about what this means to you to have a solid young player on their way out, even if it means improving?

 

4. Congratulations to those moving up to the VHL this season! That list includes Brigitta Sandstrom @Acydburn and Luc Moreau @minman. If you are someone moving up, any thoughts on your upcoming rookie season? If you are returning, what kind of impact are you expecting from the youngsters in S98?

 

5. Many other teams made moves so far, any comments on what our EU Conference competitors have done so far in Davos, Malmo, and Helsinki?

1. Excited to have an active AGM in place as we rebuild. Tet and you got it.
2. Exciting times. I'm still a First Gen about to play my first VHL season, so I'm looking forward to the uptrend for this team. We gave a lot but got great players back.
3. Dog Jagr was on my VHLM team - a bummer to lose him. We had a great run that Simon cut short this season.
4. I'm excited to be contributing at the "Show". Brigitta was strong as well. I'm just here to keep grinding away to get better.
5. Haven't seen much over there - I assume I'll start paying attention more now that I'm here
6. I'm helping Lucy out as AGM for the Foxes. Will be interesting be in two LRs!

- I am super glad we acquired Matteo, he is a strong piece to go alongside the rest of our roster. @mmrs617, welcome to the team!

- It is saddening a bit but.. It is a win for both parties involved in the trade. But I think that we have drastically improved while not sacrificing too much.

4. Congratulations to those moving up to the VHL this season! That list includes Brigitta Sandstrom @Acydburn and Luc Moreau @minman. If you are someone moving up, any thoughts on your upcoming rookie season? If you are returning, what kind of impact are you expecting from the youngsters in S98?

- The young guns are very active!

I am super excited, as they will surely bring speed and more energy to the team.

S98 will be super fun!

5. Many other teams made moves so far, any comments on what our EU Conference competitors have done so far in Davos, Malmo, and Helsinki?

- Not really. I feel like at least moves by Malmo have been discussed a lot, lately... Yeah.

6. Are you involved in any of the upcoming offseason tournaments either as a player or GM, if so which one and in what roles?

- The ProAm!

I have participated in it several times already and it is always super fun!

I am only a player, however. I don't think I could handle being a GM or an AGM, hah.

I'm very happy about it. As the first person to welcome me into the VHL, it's nice to have a familiar face on a new team.

I'm happy to be here. I'm excited to see what I can do. As for Lucy, she is always a good addition to any team.

It's hard to lose prospects, but there are still lots of time to rebuild that pool.

 

4. Congratulations to those moving up to the VHL this season! That list includes Brigitta Sandstrom @Acydburn and Luc Moreau @minman. If you are someone moving up, any thoughts on your upcoming rookie season? If you are returning, what kind of impact are you expecting from the youngsters in S98?

I think they're set to have a pretty impactful first season. This is a great place for minman to build their player as there are lots of veteran VHLers. It's always a boost to have a member like Acyd on the team. They bring a lot of experience.

 

5. Many other teams made moves so far, any comments on what our EU Conference competitors have done so far in Davos, Malmo, and Helsinki?

I think things have been shaken up a bit. I feel we are set for a big improvement on last season's record and will be a challenge for those top teams.

 

6. Are you involved in any of the upcoming offseason tournaments either as a player or GM, if so which one and in what roles?

I'm not this season. I've taken a bit of a step back to focus on IRL things, but still earning to be ready for the season.

1. Draft is fast approaching and we are picking 7th, anyone you'd particularly be interested in us drafting?

 

2. Have you been paying attention to the forum content and drama around the trades of some of the other teams?

 

3. How close to the start of the season will your player get back in gym and start training?

 

4. Does your player have a home outside of Prague for the offseason, or do they slum it in Czechia year round? If they have accomodations elsewhere during the offseason, where?

 

5. What is your player's go to cheat day meal?

 

6. Where do you think you'll be at in TPE by the end of S98?

1. Draft is fast approaching and we are picking 7th, anyone you'd particularly be interested in us drafting?

We need more players who like to score! ...But we also need players who don't like the other team scoring! Tough to choose between a good defenseman or a good forward... There are some great players at the top of the draft class and it's not easy to really pick a name that stands out more than the others. I'm sure our GM will make the right choice either way!

 

2. Have you been paying attention to the forum content and drama around the trades of some of the other teams?

Not really. It's drama and I don't really care to give it any attention... People will have their opinions and a lot of them love to let everyone know despite no one asking!

 

3. How close to the start of the season will your player get back in gym and start training?

Ah...I'm already in the gym every day. Can't have a lapse in my workout routine! This body needs to be able to give and take all the hits on the ice every shift. Training...that's whenever training camps start. I've been enjoying tending to my farm at home in Nuuk.

 

4. Does your player have a home outside of Prague for the offseason, or do they slum it in Czechia year round? If they have accomodations elsewhere during the offseason, where?

Yes! I love my hometown of Nuuk, but I also have a cozy home here in the beautiful city of Prague... I remember when I first arrived here and being awestruck by the lovely architecture! Sprawling with life around every corner with a few little surprises . Word of advice: don't bother with tour guides -- they only show you the surface! Find yourself a local friend to explore the wonderful oyster that is Prague.

 

5. What is your player's go to cheat day meal?

Fried chicken! Give me a drumstick on any cheat day... Ah, but I shouldn't. A grilled chicken cooked correctly with the right complements will do just as good!

 

6. Where do you think you'll be at in TPE by the end of S98?

I don't know what that is! Is this a Prague thing? Did my teammates forget to tell me about what a "TPE" is? *someone leans in to tell Thorvy* Points? Hopefully, better than last year! 100 points! *they lean in to try to explain again* I have over 1000 points? I don't know what you're saying here...it's confusing. 2000 points then by the end of S98! WOO!

1. At 7th there are so many options, basically first pick of the rest after the top 5-6.  First Gens FTW

After all, I don't know what's going through these people's heads. My only concern was for them not to shit on @LucyXpher's work, which I believe has been incredible.

It will take several weeks of heavy drinking, followed by last two weeks of pre-season packed with exercise.

He's Czech. Czechs do it this way.

- First of all.. 'Slum it'? We may not be the richest country but come on, we're certainly a pretty one. 

And second of all, yes, Ondřej does live in Prague but occasionally, he goes on a trip or a longer stay to the countryside or a different city, town.. There's a lot to do or to see in our little country. 

Just go ahead and ask @LucyXpher, I am sure she is having a good time!

5. What is your player's go to cheat day meal?

 

- Kebab or McDonald's. If it's the former, he usually goes for the döner variant. If it's the latter, it's a burger and the strawberry milkshake. Always the milkshake.

- Fuuuh, hell if I know. The more, the better. I will try to push certain abilities so.. I will need the sweet sweet TPE.

I totally missed the draft. I am really happy with who we picked up though.

A bit. I feel like it is really hard to gauge how draft picks are going to turn out, just like in real life. I think that as long as GMs are trying to make their team competitive, they are doing a good job.

 

3. How close to the start of the season will your player get back in gym and start training?

Maybe just a bit before training camp. TPE wise, I'm waiting to hit a goal amount and get a big boost to my stats.

 

4. Does your player have a home outside of Prague for the offseason, or do they slum it in Czechia year round? If they have accomodations elsewhere during the offseason, where?

Stefano would usually spend a lot of time back home in Ottawa, but since this is his first season in Prague, he is getting to know the city better by sticking around.

At least 4 different types of pastas. Loaded up with so much cheese and meat and spice.

I'm hoping to be pretty close to or exceeding 1000TPE

1. So yea, theres this guy - Alex Bridges IV is the name I believe? Seems to be solid. Hope we get him!

2. Not quite. I AGM for DC so i've seen our trades, also followed up on Pragues now. But other than that? No. I have heard about some scamming though.

3. We never left, thats a quitters mentality lol.

4. We go back to the family in Venice, Italy. Thats where the Bridges bloodline resides, and where I kick it for the offseason.
 

5. Being that im in Italy, pizza and pasta, I mean, what else? Right?

1.) What's poppin', Prague?! Apologies for the super delayed presser for the week... I hope you can forgive us in the admin offices  Let's get to it! We kept our 1st rounder for the S98 draft and drafted Alex Bridges IV @Oatex at 7th overall! A very talented prospect with a positive outlook for his career and was fantastic to chat with during the interview process. Please join me in welcoming him if you haven't already! Do you have any advice or words of wisdom to pass down to our upcoming Phantom?

 

2.) The start of the season is right around the corner! Mark your calendars for March 12th... What has your player been working on while in Training Camps?

 

3.) How do you feel the team stands with our current roster/line-up vs the rest of the European conference?

Welcome Oatex! No advice from me. I'm excited to play with you in the coming seasons!

Stefano is working on being a more physical player and stronger on the puck. It's time to have more possessions and set up the team for as many goals as possible.

 

3.) How do you feel the team stands with our current roster/line-up vs the rest of the European conference?

I'm really excited about the direction the team is going. We've got solid defense and the changes to forwards has set us up really well for the future. I think our goaltending tandem are going to do really well this season too.

 

4.) If you watched the VHL draft, which pick surprised you the most? If you didn't, you can look at the draft board here to take a gander at who was picked in each round! Hey...could come in handy in a future trivia question...

I was most surprised by the number of players. Only two rounds were drafted, but I think that is a product of being so close to S100.

 

5.) What are your thoughts on the Mikko Rantanen/Logan Stankoven trade?

I haven't really followed what has happened to Rantanen, but from what I heard, he wasn't too happy about the initial trade to Carolina. As much as the players want to help their teams, I do think it's important that they think about themselves too and their family's needs.

 

6.) What are you up to this weekend?!

Saturday was board game night. Sunday is BG3 night. I'm off work for the rest of the week too so it will be a restful time.

1. @Oatex is going to be awesome with his track record and lineage. I'm actually hoping he can pass advice and wisdom to me!
2. Oh man - last season I was stuck at 400 being in the VHLM. And I should be at 600 tomorrow just in time for the start of my first VHL season. Been retooling to be more consistently offense focused. Got a bunch of advice from some of the veterans, including our very own GM, @Tetricide
3. I think we're going to have a good season with all the trades and signings. 
4. Was surprised the order of my former Marauder teammates. I thought Tina Hughes would have been taken before Ryan Mantzz. Both are excellent and driven to earn. They will be on NY soon enough and helping them out. 
5. What was Carolina doing thinking they could convince Mikko to sign and trading away Neces. But not sure Stankoven can help them now, nor the picks and their window is now. Probably a good trade for them without thinking about their window. 
6. Catching up at home - travelled last weekend so a bunch of chores piled up.

Zinek is gonna be a great addition to a rising team trying to break ranks into the playoffs for that Cup run.

Prague's been missing a good center for a while, so it's time for Thorvy to step up to the plate in his new position as one. Whether it's 1st or 2nd line doesn't matter...he just wants to make sure he does his part right for the team and contributes more to their success.

 

3.) What team is our number one rival in this upcoming season, or even just your player's personal rivals?

Hmm..this is a good question. I think despite the classic "fake purple" between us and Davos, they will actually be our rival for this next season.

 

4.) If the VHL had direct affiliation with VHLM teams, which one would be tied to Prague?

There are no European M teams...sadly. The closest team to our own logo is the Philly Reapers! I think that would be a solid choice for an affiliation or farm team.

5.) How excited are you for this season to finally start?

How many more pucks do I need to bury in the net during training camps?! LET'S GET THIS SEASON GOING! I'm ITCHIN' for the first puck drop!

 

6.) What post game team tradition would be cool to establish after wins?

Maybe a trophy of some sort that the last MVP (most valuable Phantom?) passes to who they think was the MVP of the sims. We keep track of how many each player has gotten and whoever has the most at the end of the regular season gets a crown or something! Idk, something like that.

Hmm..this is a good question. I think despite the classic "fake purple" between us and Davos, they will actually be our rival for this next season.

We were purple first, therefore pressure is the one and only fake purple. It’s also not a rivalry since Prague is just bad.

- I believe it is a strong addition! Filip has great qualities that will help us strengthen the team. Also, he is a fellow Czechman. So..

- Probably retired..? I dunno. I feel like my time will have come at that point. Of course, I'd love to Jágr my way into playing some more hockey but.. I don't make the rules, hehe.

3.) What team is our number one rival in this upcoming season, or even just your player's personal rivals?

- I want to win it all, so basically.. Everyone is a rival, hehe.

But on a serious note.. I feel like Malmo and Prague will have kind of a rivalry going on, especially after that Lucy Leitner trade..

We'll see, hehe.

4.) If the VHL had direct affiliation with VHLM teams, which one would be tied to Prague?

- Houston. Solely because of drugs. The lore is there, and there is no argument against it.

Houston Bulls. Period.
5.) How excited are you for this season to finally start??

- VERY!

Oh my, I counted the days remaining,  it felt like years. 

Finally, I can lace up my skates and wreck havoc.

6.) What post game team team tradition would be cool to establish after wins?

- Hmm..

I'd give each of the three best players a beer, let them make a round on the rink and then cheer to our fans.
