After the suck that was yesterday, some small victories were had today while shopping at Walmart and then at our local coffee/drink drive through. Might not be much, but I'll take them.

I was able to find some ingredients for a sugar free/diabetic friendly take on earthquake cake that I want to make, and I wasn't expecting to see them at Walmart, so I bought them. Also did some carb counting and figured out that I can have some potato chips, but in moderation so I am crunching as we speak, after having measured out what I can eat. Zero net carb tortillas were also procured.

My final victory was at the coffee place. I used to go there for their "dirty sodas" (sodas with flavored syrups) all the time but naturally after the diabetes diagnosis, I had stopped going. I went and explained my situation and the lady was so nice. She asked me what my favorites were, and a concoction knows as a "Red Storm" was my go-to. They have Diet Dr. Pepper and both of the syrups that go in it in sugar free varieties. So, I am now currently drinking my beloved Red Storm as well. Things sometimes really are brighter the day after.

I'm gong to try and take that attitude into whatever comes next for both myself as well as Slava. There’s a new season coming up so more new chances for him to grow his game and become the best player he can, regardless of where he is. He’ll also have some time at the Pro-am tournament to enjoy as well.

Betty Crocker has a few different low sugar or zero sugar baking options from Cakes, cookies & Brownies if you are looking for some baking goods.

Also I have heard of zero carb potato chips as they are not made with potato but over veggies made to look like potato chips. We have them here in Japan at Lawson and they don`t take any different from normal chips. I think the company in NA is called "Quest" and are referred for a Protein chip. Might be worth looking into if you are looking for something crunchy. Oh, and Veggie sticks is also good for a bit of crunch; just watch Calorie intakes!!

Sounds like the adjustment is going well!!
