Greg_Di 1,042
As Roger enters what is almost the mid-point of his career, he looks back at what has happened so far in his career and his future goals for the remaining 5 seasons he has left. Roger had a good VHLE season before his draft winning the Orion D H Chiester IX trophy as the best goalie in the league. Roger came into the VHL draft as one of the hottest prospects in a draft that had a pretty good set of players in the top 5. He was drafted 3rd overall with what I believe is the highest ever TPE as a drafted rookie ever in the VHL. While he was expected to go first overall, things took a twist when Calgary took two players that have had a long history with Calgary. Roger was OK with that as he knew where he got drafted would not dictate how well he plays and he landed in Los Angeles where his task was to help the Stars to a rebuild and bring them back into the playoffs. Over the past 3 seasons it has been rough as Los Angeles entered a second rebuild halfway through their current rebuild when Eagles got drafted. This set the team back a few seasons and burned a couple years on Rogers career. "Many people see that as an issue but I don't. We were informed of the plans ahead of time and I double downed by signing an extension here. I want to be here for the long run and see things through to the end. I won't say this has been a successful career until I can get Los Angeles back to the playoffs and hopefully a cup" Roger said " I have 5 more seasons to make it happen and I will do what I can" His rookie season was nothing to write home about but as has been for the past 3 seasons, the stars, have not had a good lineup while trying to rebuild. So far his best season has been in his Sophomore year (S96) where with a pretty weak team he still managed to achieve a current personal best of 2.99 GAA. The last season (S97) was one to forget but he did set a personal best with a .921 save percentage. Going forward, Roger, intends to get his GAA under 2.5 and a save percentage above .93, He hopes to win some of the goalie awards and become the top player in the Eagles dynasty while also helping the Stars win the cup. Time will tell if he can achieve his goals and if he will go down in history as the best Eagles player yet. No Eagles player has been inducted into the hall of fame yet and the path for Roger does not look good at the moment. He has 5 seasons to turn it around.
