Gaikoku-hito 2,323 Posted yesterday at 03:20 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:20 AM (edited) How to survive a hockey fight: Since clearly my player Pierre Marc Bouchard follow closely to his name’s sake as more of a tradition playmaking/goal scoring player rather than a fighter since I found one occasion when Pierre Marc Bouchard, Minnesota Wild actually dropped the gloves (Sort of) so I am not able to do a graphic of so you think you are a tough guy using his likeness. Also, in the one fight he clearly tried to survive the fight rather get his faced punched in. The “fight” happened in a really old grainy video between the Wild and the Canucks after a stick swing incident between Burrows; Vancouver and Bouchard, Minnesota. Burrows being the much tougher player grabbed the much soft and small Bouchard. It looked for a few seconds like Burrows was going to feed Bouchard but then Burrows withheld; why? The hockey code of fighting is why!! Never fight someone that isn`t in your class as usually skilled players are off limits and fighter should only engage with other fighters. Which was the case in this situation; not to mention Burrows raged dolled Bouchard causing him to fall face down on the ice like he was turtling. So how do you survive a fight? 1. Dropped the gloves, even if you are over matched as the other player should also be following the code but don`t expect this otherwise you might end up getting beat down. 2. Remove helmets or rip-off helmet of person you are fighting if they are unwilling to remove it himself (don`t hit him with it no matter how much you want too!!) 3. Strike first as it will give you the advantage especially if you are under-sized or at a clear disadvantage. Do the unexpected and never square up or you have lost already. 4. Try to grab him with one hand on his strong punching hand/arm; if you can control his arm, he cannot really hit you. Watch for lefties or even fake that you are lefty; which was my trick!! 5. Wide stance and control the dance. If he wants to shift left then you make sure he is shifting right instead as he is trying to position himself to strike. Don`t let him. 6. If he gets his arm free it is time to end the fight so tie up, grab the back of his pants and lift as hard as you can as the fight ends as soon as you both hit the ice. Never turtle as most guys will not let up and might even make them madder!! 7. Never trash talk!! 8. Never sucker punch or hit when someone is down. 9. Pat the individual after the fight usually on the should or back and say good job even if you killed him or got killed as he didn`t have to fight or answer the call. Show respect!! I created a part two since I was going to talk about strategy but this is already too long for my .com article so check-out the strategy that I used to win most of my fights when I played hockey!! Claim April 13th; if I remember!!
