Tough Battle ahead...

King Kisslinger and the Seattle Bears started hot in the playoffs, winning the first two games of the series, but in a turn of events, Calgary has won three in a row, putting the defending cup champs on the brink of elimination. What will be the Kings' last playoff run before he rides off into the sunset may be cut short by an eager Calgary team that is ready to prove they are the next championship team. 

 

Do Better!

"We just have to play better in these close games," King Kisslinger said. "We are letting Costanzov down with all of these high-value shots through to him. We know he can make the saves, but he can't save them all. I feel like we need to help him out since he is such a beast in the net and can keep us in any game. I just feel bad, and that we are letting him down. This team is a team that I believe can go all the way and win back-to-back cups for us and our awesome fans back in Seattle, but the way we are letting the other team do what they want in these close games has to stop. I know we can be better, I can be better, we have at least one more game to prove it."  

 

Staying Focused on our goal!

I came to this team last season and saw the work that all of the players, coaches, and management have put into this team. We battled through many tough series last year, so I know we have it in us to bounce back and play the way the Bears play, smart, confident hockey with purpose. This is my last season here in the VHL, so I want to make it special, show all the fans what this means to the rest of the team and me. I want to set a standard for the next generation of Seattle players and keep the culture here the way it has been, and us coming back in this series would be the perfect way to do so. If we come back and win, we need to regroup and focus because a red-hot New York team is headed our way.  

 

The King reminisces...

If this happens to be my last series ever. I just want to reflect on my career and how far I have come. I went from a midline forward to a borderline star. I learned a lot over my career, and I am thankful for my time in Warsaw, Vancouver, and Seattle. I learned so much about myself as a person and a hockey player during my time on these teams that I wouldn't trade anything for it. I know my name is King, but the fans around the VHL have made me feel like a King. It was so amazing to have fans from all of the teams in the league come up and talk to me, even if it was friendly trash talk or for a photo and an autograph, it all meant and still means the world to me.     
 It has been an honour to play in this league.
