  • So the Lynx made it the playoffs but then we got demolished by the Houston Dynamo. I don't think anyone expected us to make any noise in the playoffs and we really didn't. In our 3 game sweep one of the games was close, one was kind of close, and the other was a blowout. All in all I think we met expectations. It was possible we could take one game (and we almost did!) but I don't think any of us expected to win the series.
  • What I'm about to say does not apply to any one particular person or GM or team (because almost all of them do it) but I do sort of chuckle when GMs (primarily VHLM, but I guess it would apply to VHL as well) reach out for these draft interviews. Does anyone ever really have an issue playing for particular teams or feel particularly strongly about playing for a team? Or about their role on the team? I know it's also to get to know the member but as someone who GM'd in both leagues I can't recall a single instances of changing my draft board as a result of these questions.

I would imagine no one has particular reasons to not play for a specific team, but I could definitely see not wanting to play for certain GMs or even with players on said team.  Some people don't get along.

Yes, there have been a couple notable situations over the past few seasons too which reaffirm the need to ask these questions. There's a lot of stuff that also doesn't get asked because you wouldn't expect it to be a sticking point, but one day it pops up that the prospect only mentioned it in a single line in a vhl.com somewhere and now the GM is surprised.
