The draft is coming, Is Komi ready?

The Junior Showcase has been a success In Dusty's eyes, but it sure has had Komi tired. It's just another stepping stone to continue to show the VHL Komi has what It takes. Komi has taken time to go and see his family though as Junior showcase keeps the guys close playing in the same area, but thanks to Dusty. Komi has been able to go and see his family by flying out, but having to fly back in constantly. Then getting his draft suit ready. Getting pictures done for Komi as well as Dusty wants him to enjoy every bit about this moment. We'll leave off on him flying back with Dusty. 
""pss Dusty you up?" Dusty yawns while answering, "ya.. w.. hh What's up?" "It's really getting closer." Dusty looks over, "That's right Komi, your dream will come true soon." "Well VHLM was the dream enough." Dusty chuckles, "Believe me kid, the VHL is amazing. it's the big show. It's all the eyes are on you. You don't want to stay in the minors forever." Komi nods, "Yeah, but what happened to the VHLE?" Dusty smiles, "You know about that league? Well It was supposed to be the middle ground for some players, but It instead was the home to a lot of guys who didn't want to go any further. It really was meant to give players a chance at better talent past the minors. The higher ups felt It wasn't serving It's purpose anymore and decided to end It. to me that was the best decision. Of course now you have guys hanging out in the minors, which is still an issue, but there's only so much you can do I feel like. It was the right move for the league." Komi nods, "Well how the VHLE?" "It was an experience. I never started there once, I was always sharing the spotlight, but it taught me lessons. Even then those other goalies taught me humbleness and even how to play goalie better. Everyone deserves their chance." Komi yanws, "jeez Dusty I didn't expect all of that." Dusty chuckles, "Well hey if you don't want my advice just say that." Komi bumps him "stop you just went on and on there." Dusty responds back starting a new topic, "Past that Komi how have been feeling between the pipes? "I feel good, having some talented guys in front of me has been a big help." Dusty chimes, "Definitely, and believe me the best talent is in the vhl man. When you get a team that works together, It's a beautiful thing i swear" Komi smiles "Dusty, why did you retire so early?" Dusty looks down, "Truthfully just didn't realize how much of a wanted gk I'd be and all I knew was the bears. Just felt right to walk away at the peak of my game." Komi asks, "That's fair, but do you think you could of played longer?" Dusty looks over, "Definitely, but hindsight is 20/20 right? I could of kept playing and only been worse. Just felt like the right time. You'll know when It feels right, that reminds me. Have you gotten anymore interviews? komi looks down, "I have not actually still only the same team?" Dusty scoffs, "Jeez that's okay though kid. Teams are just either focused on playoffs, or gathering their feet and deciding the future of their squads. The draft will go how it will go. Just remember you're the best and as long as you truly believe that. You'll be fine."

-The finally arrive back for the junior showcase games- 
Komi goes through these games and meets Dusty outside the Arena. Dusty looks at him "Hey you can't win them all." Komi gets in the car, "Lets just go" Dusty starts driving, "So you feeling good man?" Komi looks at Dusty, "I mean I just lost so not great right now." Dusty smiles, "Come on now, Forget about that. the main focus is the draft man!" Komi smiles, "Yeah I'm excited we have my suit we have the pictures I wanted. i know we'll have some at the draft too. I'm ready for the commissioner to call my name!" Dusty chuckles, "That's right. Have there been any mock drafts yet?" Komi answers, "Yeah, but it seems this draft the skaters are bigger needs for teams drafting in the top 10." Dusty nods, "That makes sense, but hey that just means a team could get amazing value by picking you later or you fall into a teams lap that truly needs you." Komi shakes It off, Dusty answers, "Hey man not everyone is a star, some are a star in the making. Plus lets be honest looking at some of those names I'm not passing up on them for anything especially if im the gm of the team. Just look at It this way Komi. These teams are trying to win." Komi shakes his head, "Yeah.. I know that's why they'll regret not taking me." Dusty smiles while laughing, "there you go! that's the right way to look at things, but Is there a certain team you want to end up on?" Komi answers, "Truthfully seattle hearing you talking about them feels like a safe space for me." Dusty answers, "Well based off their Goalies, you'd be waiting a while. Any other teams?" "Hmm maybe DC? "I'd say same thing for them too, but of course this all the eye test." Komi moves past the convo, "Well I'll just let whoever get me, I just want to be where I'm wanted." "You will be I promise that. Just need some more development, but I truly believe teams view you highly. You are the best goalie available as this doesn't seem to be a very deep goalie draft. So you'll go to a team that has a need for you or may take you just to get trade value out of you. Which either way who cares. When you get drafted to the VHL It's an amazing thing. With getting trade If a team trades for you that means they want you as well! that's a win-win if you ask me Komi." Komi nods, "true I'll still be in Ottawa next season either way, but hopefully can get to the point to get to the VHL quick." "You will man, but remember just enjoy these little moments and this moment leading up to the draft. Put It In God's hands and all will work out." 

Well Komi is ready for the draft, past the story some of you know this is my 2nd goalie. I absolutely love the vhl and can't wait till Komi gets his name called up. For now Were waiting on his name to be called to which team drafts him. Good luck to the other prospects!
