"do the thing to title properly!" no!

Recommended Posts

It was a typical Sunday for Martinez, who was pushing through his usual week doing the same old stuff he would've done before. He had a lot of stuff to do tonight, but there wasn't a lot of time to do it right now, and that's what scared him.

Agustin usually followed a loose “schedule” that he'd set himself, one that he'd made sure to follow to a tee so he wouldn't be able to think about the day passing by. It's what his mother taught him when he once said he was "bored of repeating the same things.” Lately, his schedule was usually divided like this:

Mornings, from 6:00 to 9:00, he would make himself breakfast, then do some studying. Usually, he studied hockey maneuvers, however sometimes he did end up studying college-level subjects; math and science especially. From 9:00 until noon, he’d find himself with a bit of free time, playing about an hour or two on the computer he built, before he went outside to do some training. He usually trained into the afternoon, though when he didn’t train, he would write or read something in the library near him. Once he was done in the library, he made his way home to cook dinner, a big dinner to compensate for skipping lunch. He wasn’t all for making a scene on his way home, but visits to the outside world often ended in at least one person recognizing him. He felt awkward about that part.

As he followed his schedule and walked home, he passed by someone familiar; a girl he’d seen wandering around in the library, often browsing the romance or fantasy sections for “good books” as she once said when he asked. She was a mystery to him, but a pretty one. He had a strange infatuation for those who stood out from the crowd, and her appearance matched that; she had a softer face with round glasses with much sharper, intimidating eyes with her hair typically in a messy, but still pretty-looking bun or a high ponytail. She didn’t talk much to anyone, and the people she usually talked to were usually hanging around the arena he and Mexico City would play in. He wondered if that could be a good starting point to talk to her?

As he passed by her, he figured he shouldn’t say anything. His appearance was still pretty messy and he had quite the annoyed expression on his face thanks to the people who had been bothering him about an hour prior. He passed the library on his way home every single time, but this time, he decided to take a detour, passing instead by the nearby food trucks and other stores. Sometimes he’d do that to change up the pace, other times to get something off of his mind. What he wanted to get off his mind was the girl; he wanted to talk to her, but didn’t know how to approach her properly. He usually knew how to approach women, but since it’s been about 3 months since getting on hormones, he felt a little more awkward. The changes were mostly placebo, he always felt a little weirder approaching girls in the past, but it was amplified a bit after the start of testosterone.
