Can't title this shit.

Recommended Posts

I've been rather busy over the past week around the VHL, but doing things correctly!

Deciding to step down from my role as the Calgary Wranlers' General Manager was the right decision. I'm sure some people may disagree, but steering a team creates a pressure environment that, in my case, made a small obstacle to my enjoyment of this league. It's a weird feeling, but it seems like a small weight was lifted off my shoulders - could it have to do with Calgary winning the Continental Cup on my last day as General Manager? I don't think so.

When that last day of the season came, I was in the midst of a short work week and a long weekend that felt like a much-needed break and a small vacation. I was in the Continental Cup Finals with both Maverick and Zef. Player versus General Manager, but in the end, the duality of life left me in limbo. Between Calgary's enthusiasm and Moscow's end of an era, what remained?

A relieved VHL user. I was happy to be part of the winning team, and I appreciated the effort from Moscow. I felt free. The ending of something was the opportunity for a new beginning, and I took advantage of it. Without the pressure of taking care of a VHL team, I just have to be the earner I know I can be.

I feel I was able to be much more present with the preparations for this season's World Cup, a tournament I rather enjoy, but among all other jobs, it was placed in a difficult period slot. This season, I was able to help out more and help further our efforts with a slightly different approach for the teams and GMs, as well as a new fantasy game - well, new-ish.

At the same time, I'm able to help out more with the updating, too. And with the World Cup's Fantasy Face-Off having me taking some time already for those tasks, I was able to get a head start on VHFL and Super Coach, which will allow me to run it earlier and get fairer results than delaying it and having people doing some early math on who they should take.

All and all, it's been a fun and fair run since winning the cup and leaving the Wranglers. Now it's time to start banking with Maverick, which sucks a little - it would have been more fun to keep that TPA total going up and up. Maybe in my next career, I could not sign with a team and not play in the VHL until I could do it for the right number of seasons to not be hit by depreciation. Could you imagine a 2000 TPA player hitting the ice?

I guess we'll have to see, but this ends my first small ramble. I hope no one reads this, but everyone's able to sign up for the fantasy games we have going on this season. See you next time, VHL!
