After bowing out of the playoffs yet again in familiar fashion, rumors started to swirl around of the Cologne Express moving Blaine Olynick to another team.

Those rumors turned out to be true, as this past week Olynick saw himself set sails to Stockholm in a trade. The one player trade included a S44 3rd rounder going to Cologne.

Throughout the uncertainty in Cologne, the Express saw elite goaltender Martin Brookside become the new #1 goaltender for next season.

"It was hard to accept that I was leaving the only place I ever knew, but Stockholm is a good team with great guys. I already feel comfortable here. It was a fast process." said Olynick in an interview yesterday.

This would be the best situation for Olynick, falling into a team with young, inexperienced players who will look up to him as a leader in the locker room for this upcoming season. He's placed into a spot he's never been in before: The most seasoned player in the room.

"It's uncharted territory for me, definitely," said Olynick. "I'm going to make the best of the situation. I want to help this team win now and for the future," he added.
