     RIGA RE-BUILDING

After 5 straight seasons of competing, it appears the Riga Reign will finally miss the playoffs for the first time since S37. With a penchant for trading their draft picks for proven talent, the prospect pool in Riga dried up. Combined with their aging talent, it eventually became time for the Reign to begin selling off their players for future draft picks. Now that most of the core team is gone, the Reign are struggling to pick up wins. While all-time Riga Reign greats Brennan McQueen and Robin Gow are doing their best to lead the team, they don’t quite have the supporting cast necessary for a playoff push. Mike Szatkowski Jr, Slaeter Fjorrstrom, Phil Villenueve, and Alistar Graves were all jettisoned from the team during the off-season, while Robert Gow III left for Calgary via free agency. There are rumors around the league that both Gow and McQueen will be moved at the upcoming trade deadline, but as of now, these are unconfirmed reports.
