Benjamin Dupont is quite excited to get his first VHLM season started.  The former Peterborough Petes center was recently drafted by the Saskatoon Wild with the fourth overall pick in the VHLM Dispersal Draft.  When asked about the selection and whether or not he was surprised he fell to four, Dupont had this to say: “I’m really excited to be a member of the Wild.  They have some good talent there with Faux, Hedman and Truth.  I think we have some holes to fill but it looks like a decent team that could make some noise.  As for whether or not I am surprised, I thought I could go third overall, but the Royals went in a different direction.  Safe to say, I’ll look to make them regret that.”

Dupont, who already has ties with the New York Americans, is looking to have an explosive season and the potential connection of him and Faux bodes well for the Wild going forward.  The season may very well rest in the hands of the French center as he looks to lead the team into the post-season and potentially into VHLM glory.  “I’m not here to miss the playoffs and collect cheques.  I want to be a leading contributor on one of the best teams in the league.  Nothing less.”
