.sniffuM 1,741
When the New York Americans chose E'Twaun Delicious first overall in the Season 43 VHL Entry Draft, they were hoping to be adding a deadly, generational level sniper. So far, the results have been less than satisfactory. Through seven games, Delicious has managed four points, shooting a paltry 5.4 percent and taking 37 hits. The Frenchman didn't see the ice too much in the first two games of the season, a decision that now has solid context thanks to a leaked comment by an anonymous Americans coach. "He just hasn't been working as hard as we hoped," the coach said. "We were hoping he'd come in and set the tone for our team as a hard worker, but so far he's been complacent and lazy." Delicious's activity hit its nadir last week, when the winger missed his point task and was forced to claim welfare for the first time. For what it's worth, Delicious doesn't seem fazed by the comments. "I know that New York took a big chance picking me first overall," Delicious said of the comments. "If they think I can work harder, then I'll work harder. What I can say is that I guarantee that the Americans will get the best of me for as long as I'm in New York."
