Jamie 438
Bronson Faux comes from Montreal, Quebec as a highly touted prospect. He spent a year in the NWJHL with the Brampton Blades before he was drafted into the VHL. Weighing in at 235 pounds, this 6'5 tall centre is a force to be reckon with. His time with the Blades saw him as the top centre and captain of the team. Most of the top 6 on the team put up over 100 points and Bronson was left behind in that category putting up only 20 goals and 84 points. He made up for it, however, with a +86 rating and strong leadership skills which eventually led them to the Founder's Cup. Bronson was drafted 2nd overall and now captains the VHL's Riga Reign and looks to be the main building piece for the future of that team.PROS "Bronson's main asset has to be his vision. His playmaking abilities are unseen nowadays. It's like he has eyes in the back of his head as he always know where each of his teammates are and puts the puck on their stick. Sometimes the players that he plays with are even surprised that the puck makes it to them and they don't get a good scoring chance because of that. If they can find the right goal scorer to put on a line with him, they could make a very deadly combo for years to come." - Jean Gagnon, Bronson's junior coach "His size has to be the first thing that stands out to anyone. He's a big boy and on skates he's even bigger. It was definitely intimidating for other players his age to play against him. A year ago I would have said this was a weakness because he didn't hit at all in the juniors, but he's changed his game over the past summer and has started to use his big figure to throw the big hits. It's proven because he's at the top of the VHL in hits and that's exactly what he needed to do. This is definitely a big plug to have a centre that isn't afraid to get into the dirty parts areas but can throw the big open ice hits too." - Bob Faux, Bronson's uncle "One word; leadership. I knew from the second that I drafted this kid that he had natural leadership skills and it showed on and off the ice. I made him captain of my team and I didn't regret that decision once. He's been known for his leadership since he was a young kid and continued it into the VHLM which helped lead my team to a championship. Now he captains an up and coming team in the VHL as a rookie so it's a pattern that has followed him his whole life, and it's not a coincidence. This kid is going to be a great leader his whole career and will only get better with age and experience." - Terrence Fong, Brampton Blades GM CONS "Bronson gets easily discouraged. If he has a couple of bad games he can and will go on a long stretch of bad games. His mentality just isn't strong enough currently and it affects his whole game. He still gives it his all game in and game out but he loses confidence that he won't be able to make the big play and goes for the easy play that misses opportunities to generate scoring chances. Hopefully this comes with experience and he's able to rid of this bad habit." - Alex Gambo, hockey scout "As big as Bronson is, he needs to work on his strength. He is easily knocked off the puck and just doesn't have the power to fight off players and steal the puck. He really needs to hit the gym and become a powerhouse out there that all players are afraid to play against. He already has the big hitting but he needs the power to go along with it." - Mark Appleton, Bronson's trainer "I think his biggest weakness is his defensive abilities. While I think he will eventually come into his own offensively, he needs to shore up his defensive game. Especially as a centreman, he needs to be the most responsible player out there and he just isn't right now. His back check is nearly non-existent and he mostly gets walked around out there. If he wants to be one of the premier centres in the league, and more importantly the top centre on his team, he's going to really have to focus on the defense parts of the game and that will in turn help out his offensive game." - Jim Gow, Riga Reign GM Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/20655-bronson-faux-rookie-profile-final-88/ Share on other sites
DollarAndADream 3,356
Overview: 2/2 - Great RP. Definitely a fan of Faux, especially considering his hulking size as a centerman. Pros & Cons: 3/3 - Good pros and cons list. I like how they're all quotes from people. Grammar: 2/2 - "force to be reckon with" - reckoned "as he always know where each" - knows Presentation: 1/1 - Good.
