Fjorsstrom announces he is coming to the VHL

Today Slaeter Fjorsstrom has officially announced he is coming to the VHL to play for as many as eight seasons.

"I want a bigger challenge than want I am getting right now."

Fjorsstrom, pronounced Jor-strum, is currently playing Jr. B in Kingston for the Voyageurs.  A native of Oslo, Norway, Slaeter moved to Canada when he was 10.  His mother is from Canada, and they moved to Canada when she was offered a job.

"It's a lot different here than in Norway, I had to adjust a lot.  I love it here though and I want to play hockey as much as possible, so the VHL was a great choice."

Fjorsstrom attended the Kingston Frontenacs camp as a walk on in September, but elected not to sign with the club as he heard about the chance to play all over the world from close friend Miles Larsson, who was nearing retirement.

"It's a great opportunity, I hope I can play well here and earn myself a shot at the NHL.  I play a more offensive game, so hopefully I can help out the team that selects me."
