emveegtg 6
After an Australian semi-pro hockey blogger recently posted that league superstar Matty Gatsby would not return next season, many of us had questions regarding the future of Gatsby. Well those questions have finally been answered as the 26 year old right winger's name has popped up on the VHLM Draftee list. Gatsby has spent the majority of his hockey career playing over seas in many different semi-pro leagues. When asked why he decided not to pursue professional hockey, Gatsby always stated that the pressure and spotlight of being a professional player would be too much to handle. Coming from the village of Florence, Ontario, Canada, Gatsby has always preferred to be hidden deep within the rosters of various semi-pro teams, never really getting the attention that this elite player truly deserves. But no more will that be the case, as he comes busting into the scene. Gatsby however has his work cut out for him, as the level of hockey he is about to step in to is that of a much higher calibre than what he is used to overseas. Gatsby told the media he is more than excited to play, and has been working on various aspects of his game in order to prepare for the higher level of competition. "Im excited to finally get a chance to show the world what I've got" said Gatsby when asked if he has what it takes to be effective in the league. Be on the lookout for Matty Gatsby, he just might be coming to a town near you. I look forward to the coming developments, as this is sure to be a great hockey story in the making! Stay tuned!
