Clardy packed his good speaker for floating down the Guadalupe River Saturday

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX - Many Americans had reason to celebrate this Saturday. Aside from the good start Houston native Michael Clardy has had to the start of the season, this past Saturday was July the 4th, a great holiday celebrating independence, joy, and the unifying of a nation. As previously reported, Clardy was overlooked for a spot on not on the Team USA, but also Team Mercenaries for the World Cup. Nevertheless, Clardy flew back to Texas to celebrate the 4th any good Texan does: floating on the Guadalupe River.

Getting to town early, Clardy took the long ride 2 times down the river, pounding down brewskies, trading beers with the locals, and having a fun time being the celebrity king of the river, as most Texans have started to follow #Clargary and his northern Wranglers. Getting to chill with a pro hockey player on a national holiday was a holiday in itself for most folks in attendance. Though Clardy didn't stay for the fireworks since he needed to get back to Calgary, the 4th ended up being a fun day not only for the young Houston defender, but for the river full of people there celebrating the great country they live in.
