Prior to this season, Perron had a pretty comfy position playing alongside VHLM stars Teibert, Willcox and Taneyev. Plenty of points to be had and almost no spotlight or pressure to succeed. With 74 points in 72 games, it was a pretty good rookie year for the rookie forward that got to learn what it took to be a star in the junior level. Fast forward to present time and those stars are gone and its up to Perron to step into the leadership role. Named captain of his club, he has impressed club supporters with his maturity even after losing so many key players going into this season.

So far Perron leads the club in points and goals with 32 in 14 games playing alongside VHLM 2nd year Jefferson Jackson whom sits second in the team with 27 points. The two have had great chemistry together and Perron has been delighted in his recent success which has kept Brampton in a playoff spot despite it being known as a retooling year for the club.

On a club with no top level draft picks this season, Perron is emerging as the league MVP for the most part, pacing the league leaders in offensive categories.
