Full Name: Geoff (G-Off) Reid

Position: D

Age: 19

Height (inches): 80

Weight (lbs.): 245

Birthplace: Germany

Jersey Number:85

Overview

Very good size for a defenseman with the aggressiveness and tenacity to boot. Plays very good shutdown style hockey with the willingness to put the team first. He has the potential to be a great asset to any team, but you will have to get his “party animal” life style under control in order to make it to the big leagues. Humors and  loves the game of hockey, but can come across as aloof or angry at times.

Pros

Size

He is a massive sized defensemen standing at 6 foot 8 and 245 pounds. His size is great for bearing down on the opponents. This along with his massive wing span allows him to play and clog up lanes. His height also gives him the legs to move up and down the ice effectively and quickly.

Defense

He is a very smart defenseman given his appearance. He tends to be more of a stay at home defenseman versus the attacking type, but is known for show flashes of offensive brilliance (usually in the forms of screens).  He is willing to block the hardest of shots and play the bodies of his opponents. Great sense of where to be  and when.

Checking

Using both his size and his weight he has known to control the pace of players through his pure checking energy. He follows through with his checks and makes sure they are as clean as can be. There has not been many who have been able to avoid his crushing blows in the corners.

Cons

Scoring

Even though he has been known to go on the offensive when called on he is very weak in the scoring category. As a stay at home/ shutdown defenseman this can be easily over looked. Given his size his shots are hard, but they lack some accuracy.

Discipline

Great hardworking gritty defenseman but he has been known to drop the gloves. He has a quick temper that can sometimes get in his way to make the best game time decisions. Even with all this he is known to protect his team. Off the ice his discipline tends to drop even further with wild parties and the drinking. Despite his “party animal” tendency he still loves the game of hockey

Leadership

He is not known for his leadership qualities and that is holding him back from being a great stay at home defenseman. He has flashes of brilliance from time to time, but this is not consistent enough to lead. He comes across as very aloof and angry sometimes which tend to push others away from him.

Overview: 2/2 - Solid rookie profile, good luck with your player!

Pros & Cons: 3/3 - Yup hit this part. Leadership was an interesting choice as a con. Don't see it very often.

Grammar: 2/2 - I didn't know aloof was even a word, tbh. I had to google it, haha.
and  loves  = and loves (an extra space ;)

Presentation: 1/1 - Yup

Overall: 8/8
