Storm Tie Up Nordic Division

With 23 games left in the regular season, the Oslo Storm have clinched both a playoff birth and first spot in the Nordic division. The Norwegian outfit—headed by top scorers Reuel, Coutzen, and Goody—look set to clinch the European conference as well in coming weeks, and will be looking forward to a shot at winning their first Founder's Cup since S32.

Reuel, Babiy, and Galeano celebrate victory over Ottawa

Boasting an impressive eight victories in their previous ten outings, the Storm clinched the Nordic Division with a couple of recent wins over the Moscow Red Wolves. The Red Wolves now sit 50 points adrift of their divisional rivals, with Alpine division leaders, the Bratislava Watchmen, sitting a full 18 points shy of Oslo in the European conference standings. With the Slovakians expected to overcome Moscow in the conference semis (Bern look out of the reckoning), it is the Watchmen who will most likely be the hurdle that the Storm will have to overcome if they want a shot at the championship. During the regular season thus far, it has usually been Oslo who have had the better of things when the two sides face off; they currently boast a record of 5–2–1 against Bratislava. The sides will meet twice more before the playoffs begin.
