Childhood:

Olivia Diamond was born and raised in Hamilton, New Zealand. Growing up as a middle child did have it's advantages and disadvantages. Being a part of a decent sized family always meant that she wouldn't be the youngest or the oldest. She got to get away with quite a few things when she was younger. Of course she would always try to blame her younger siblings for everything she did. Sometimes she would get away with it and other times she would get caught. She grew up in a family that loved watching sports on television. It didn't matter what the sport was, she would always watch it. She loved watching American Football, Hockey and Baseball. Basketball wasn't a part of her favorites, but she watched it from time to time just to be able to talk with her mates. Whenever a sport came on T.V., she would get the family together and they would all root for the same teams.

Early Years:

During her early years, Olivia would try to play every sport that she could. She first tried her hand at soccer. She wasn't sure what position would suit her so she tried out at all positions. What seemed to work out the most was defender. She wasn't exactly the best coordinated, but she loved to being out there with her teammates. She would always try to make the other person fall over when she ran into them. Her coaches loved the fact of how aggressive she was with her hits. Middle school would be where she learned how to play basketball. After football season ended, she would get right into basketball season. She tried out for the team but it seemed like she wasn't good enough to start. She would fill in as a utility player but never had a set position. She was the girl who would come off the bench fora  few minutes to give the starter some rest. She was quite faster than most of her teammates and her coach used it to her advantage.

High School:

High school is where hockey started to be her favorite sport to play. She tried out for the girl's team and caught on quickly as a winger. She loved being out there and making plays for the team. Whether it was passing the puck around or scoring a goal, it just seemed to have this sort of feeling that she loved. Once she got into a comfortable zone and her sophomore season came along, she decided he didn't want to be one dimensional with her game. She wanted to be a little more aggressive with her game. So she started learning about hitting and how to do it properly. After learning how to become a two-way forward, she quickly established herself as one of the best players on the varsity team. There were three main stars on the team and it was her, the center and the goalie on the team. The center on the team was a sniper and she absolutely loved making goals for the team. The goalie was just an absolute monster when the pucks were flying at her. All through her high school career all she wanted to do was just get better and better. Her senior year, she managed to become one of the top recruits in the nation. She had gotten lots of scholarships from all around the world and she had to choose if he wanted to stay in New Zealand or head to the states.

The Decision:

She decided that she was going to head to the United States and she was going to play college hockey there. She wasn't sure where she wanted to commit to, but she was sure she wanted to travel the world. She went to the United States and she was going to get the chance to visit each of the campuses that she was interested in. The first college she went to was the University of North Carolina. There she would go on to meet the coach of the team and she met some of the players that were currently on the team. After touring the campus, she decided it was time to go. Next college was the University of Texas. There they had prepared a lunch for her and were ready to show her around. She checked out the rink and got to meet some of the players at the school. She went around and visited a few more schools but she told herself that she was going to take some personal time to decide. Over the next two weeks, she would be on the phone with her parents and some of her mates. She told them all about the colleges and they told her to go to wherever felt right to her. Whichever could give her the best education and still let her enjoy hockey. She decided that she was ready to pick and wanted to go to the University of Southern California.

During her freshman year in college she got the chance to play in a few games on the team. She didn't make starter as they weren't sure if she could handle it just yet. So she split the games with the starter and she showed real promise. She was sure of her talent and she wanted to go pro after the season ended. She talked with some scouts about the NHL but they all told her that she wouldn't make it due to being a female. She heard about the Victory Hockey League and she thought it would probably be more suited to her. She got a chance to meet with a couple of the commissioners and she was informed that they were more than welcoming to new players. So she decided to make herself eligible for the 46th season of the VHL. It would be there that her destiny would start to unravel. She called back home to her parents and told them that she was going pro. They talked to her about joining the VHL as the NHL didn't seem like they would be a match for her due to her gender. They supported her and told her that they would root for her and watch her on T.V. whenever she played. She told them they had European teams and it could be possible that she gets the chance to play for one of those teams. The path to the VHL starts now and she will be ready for the minors in no time.
