The VHLM season is not past the halfway point, and it would seem that the Moscow Red Wolves have some cause to be nervous. After blowing out the competition to start the season, the world is catching up to the team, and they're in a fight to maintain their first-place standing, which brings with it a first-round bye and home-ice advantage throughout the VHLM playoffs

The Red Wolves currently have a four-game lead over the Bern Royals, but the Red Wolves have lost four of their last 14 games. In a highly-competitive league like the VHLM, that's a positively damning stretch. Also, to make matters worse, star winger Pete Stockton has almost disappeared entirely once the games start going. He's under a point-per-game at the moment, which in the VHLM might as well mean that he's on injured reserve. Fortunately, Moscow has no shortage of options to keep the team afloat, and despite some recent hiccups Sandor Clegane is the best goaltender the VHLM has to offer (Coca Cola be damned). Hopefully, Stockton and the Red Wolves get the ship righted before the playoffs roll around, and hopefully they have a bye to help get things straightened out.
