Despite being able to celebrate a sweep of the Bern Royals in the VHLM's European Conference finals, Moscow Red Wolves' right wing Pete Stockton isn't very high on his own performance. Despite a team-high 21 shots on goal, Stockton failed to score and registered only two assists. After much introspection and conversation with his coaches, Stockton feels he has found the problem.

"I can't skate," said the future VHL lottery pick. "I absolutely suck at it. I have the scoring touch down, that's for sure, and I can play well at both ends and hit guys well enough to make them feel it for days, but none of that matters if I'm lumbering around out there like Hal Gill."

Stockton is using the extended layoff between series (the Brampton Blades and Saskatoon Wild play a deciding game tonight to determine Moscow's finals opponent) and the upcoming offseason to get as much tutelage as he can in the art of skating. It's likely that Stockton will spend next season in the minors as well, allowing for even more time to work on his movement before he joins either the Toronto Legion or Seattle Bears (most like) in the VHL in time for season 47.
