Covington quietly putting up stunning season

Recommended Posts

Sir William Covington III the so called rightful king of England is quietly putting up a stunning season. His 17 goals and 18 assists are good for 35 points on a team that was never expected to be good. Which they are not. But Covington heading into his draft year has put up numbers that make people wonder just how he does it. Besides Stabby he has not much to work with on the team due to the team tanking but yet he is a wizard with the puck. He has scored a goal in almost every way imaginable. Yet no one really talks about Covington because he plays for a team that sucks. Everyone talks about Bern, Ottawa and players that play for them. At Covington's current pace he will easily surpass the 100 point mark this season. In this his very first hockey season EVER!

The only thing that Covington can really hope for is that the points and goals keep coming and he keeps showing the league that he was the steal of the draft at 13th overall. A fact that most GM's that would like to trade for him under value him. Most GM's are thinking that if he was taken in the 2nd round he is worth no more then that 2nd rounder. But the truth is that Covington is different then your usual prospect. He is outspoken and announced a whole slew of teams that he refused to play for before the draft. Which has limited the possible teams that he can play for. Something that might have bitten him in the ass, because now those teams that he FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY at the draft may feel FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY and might be backing away from talks because the reported asking price on Covington is a 1st rounder and another pick. It maybe a steep price for any team to pay especially when most teams do not want to trade away their 1st round picks that easily. So for now Covington is stuck waiting for his turn to get the trade call.

But that does not scare Covington at all. Most prospects would stop being outspoken and would fall in line, but not Covington. He has taken this waiting for a trade as a oppertunity to trash talk other teams and even talk about the upcoming draft. "These GM's that are interested in are slowly running out of time to trade for me. If you want to come out as the number one team you might as well pull the trigger. Because if you hold off thinking about if you want to trade that pick another team might swoop in and pick me up. Also it may come a time where I will just say I will stay in Saskatoon. I am more than happy in Saskatoon, I want Ahma to get the best possible deal for me. If I have to wait till the upcoming draft for a trade so be it. I will play out the season in Saskatoon happily. I am getting ass loads of points even without "good" linemates. So I don't need you or your shitty fucking players. You know you need a top line center, I know it. So grow some balls and do it. If not... well guess what? fuck you. I will give teams till this Sunday 11:59PM EST Sunday to trade for me. If not then I will stay in Saskatoon. Don't test me. And if you do try to test me guess what? I have a list of VHL teams that I will not sign with if I am drafted by. A list that can easily grow just because you play for them. So don't toy with me, grow some fucking balls and do it"

There never has been a prospect quite like Covington ever in the league. He is willing to challenge GM's to trade for him before his self imposed "King Trade Deadline" It will be interesting to see if any GM interested in him will do something before 11:59PM EST Sunday. He is more then happy to stay in Saskatoon just so Ahma gets what he wants for him and since he will do what he has "to do" to make sure he plays in the VHLM next season any team trading for him this season will have him next season also. It will be interesting to see what happens this week.
