sterling 2,000
In a sentence that sounds better and makes more sense than last season's incarnation, we are bringing you Labatte's last stand. The eight year VHL goalie is set to end his career in the playoffs this season. It looked all but over during the first round series against the Toronto Legion, but the goalie backstopped his team to three straight wins, two of which were decided in overtime. Now the goalie and the Wranglers are facing off against the Quebec City Muete is what is shaping up to be a defensive battle. The first two games were both shut outs, one for Calgary and one for Quebec. Whether Labatte and the Wranglers have enough gas in the tank to win will be the central question now. "We beat a damn good team in Toronto, especially in a situation where everybody and their dog thought we were done. I'm sure we won't bow down easily against an even better Meute team. We'll see how this shapes up, I hope to beat them and I think we can if we continue to focus on defence," Labatte said.
