Recent news was released as to which players were returning and which ones from Canada would be invited to try out for the World Cup. For many World Cups, Canada have had a strong team but this season does not look so stellar, thanks to goaltending.

Canada will be relying on goaltender Atticus Von Braxton IV, who doesn't even have a game in the VHL to his name. Many analysts do not expect the Canadians to make the medal rounds as a result of this, and the team definitely has a tough test ahead of them. The more notable forwards on the team are Calgary's Tyler Cote and Marcus Hurley, as well as Brady Stropko, Gifford Shock and the Faux brothers. On defense, the big names are Lloyd Light, Jaime Hill, Pablo Escabar, and Francis York Morgan. One player thrilled to be invited to camp is the Toronto Legion's Zach Parechkin, who had some things to say, :

"It's an honor to represent my country in the World Cup. We definitely have a tough test ahead of us, and it will be interesting to see how the chemistry of the lineups play out. I'm looking forward to playing with some different guys and seeing what kind of ways we can feed off of each other. Captain Marcus Hurley of the Wranglers has been a favourite of mine since before entering the league, so I'm thrilled to be playing alongside him especially. There are a lot of young talents who get a chance to showcase themselves as well, so things will be exciting."

Canada is hoping to prove some of the doubters wrong at this tournament, but they have a big hill to climb.
