After having a very good college career Sam Wall has decided to not join the NHL, despite being a projected second round pick. Instead Wall has announced that he will join the VHL, or the Victory Hockey League for those who are not familiar. The league begins with the younger prospects playing the the VHML, which is the minor league clubs for the VHL main league. When Wall decided to join the VHML he was immediately put onto the waiver wire where he stayed for a little over 48 hours.

While on the waiver wire Sam became inpatient but kept faith in his agent and ended up being claimed by Bern.  Because Bern is an above average team they couldn't offer a lot of playing time, as could any other development team. We asked Wall how disappointed he was in this fact. "It kind of pissed me off at first. I mean nobody wants to come into a new league and sit on the bench but it seems like I am going to be doing that. However there are other things that I can do like cheer on my team and hopefully we make a playoff run."

Sam didn't start playing hockey until the age of 12, when another friend of him invited him to come to a practice with him. During the practice the coach asked him to play goalie where he excelled. That is when he decided to pursue hockey as a full time sport. During the winter, fall, spring, and summer Wall found himself practicing hockey. He fell in love with the game.

Wall wasn't only good at hockey though, because he could have went into the MLB draft according to many sources, and be a top pick. When we asked him how much of a factor baseball played into his ability to goal-tend we were surprised on how much of an impact it made. "I think baseball made me the goalie I am now. I used to play catcher and that gave me great reaction time along with being able to hit the ball. It improved my hand eye coordination and made me have quick hands. I think I will continue playing baseball in my free time, but hockey is where my passion is."

When Sam graduated high school he decided to attend the university of Minnesota where he would become one of the states favorite hockey players. During his two years with the Golden Gopher's Wall had a combined record of 57-8. He also had a save percentage of .901 which is pretty good for someone who had never played at that high of a level.  He also led the team to back to back NCAA championship games, but only ended up winning one of those, which was his second and final year.

That is the backstory on your newest VHML goaltender and we all hope he has success while in the league.

Well, here's your feedback if you wanted some. :P

I hope you can make a great player out of Wall. Definitely has a good backbone to follow and an amazing name for a goalie.
