Vasteras and Riga Finalize Trade

Damien Sandow will be joining the Iron Eagles for the S36 season

 

VASTERAS, SWEDEN -  A few hours ago, the Vasteras Iron Eagles and the Riga Reign agreed to terms on a deal that involved four draft picks and one player. Heading to the Reign is Vasteras' 1st round pick in the upcoming S36 draft (4th overall); going the other way, the Iron Eagles received Cologne's S36 1st (7th overall), Riga's S36 2nd (11th overall), Vasteras' own S36 2nd (13th overall), and former 5th overall pick from S32, forward Damien Sandow. When asked, Vasteras GM Thomas Corcoran had this to say, "We didn't really feel that the players available to us at 4th overall were what we wanted, and we also thought that two slightly less talented prospects could be just as good as one slightly better prospect. Also, we needed to restock our prospect cupboard a bit, so this helps in that department as well. After the consensus top two draftees, Godavari Yumalatopinto and Xin Xei Xiao, there was a bit of a drop-off in talent, so we took the risk and gambled. Only time will tell how it plays out"
