Evans 305
Ladies and gentlemen, someone at our lovely sponsor ESPN thought that it would be smart to have me write a weekly blog to give insights into my life as a rookie. They have given me the freedom to talk about what I want as long as I keep it rated PG-13. I think this week I will play it say and write a little something about why Riga is the perfect fit for me. 1. Communication: The Riga Reign were one of only two teams to contact me prior to the draft. For a draft that was considered up in the air for the first four picks, that's kind of crazy. I would assume a high end prospect like myself would have heard from all four lottery teams, but that simply was not the case. I can't speak for the other prospects, but any team that didn't contact me I would not have wanted to play for. Riga asked me some in depth questions and did not hesitate to answer the questions I had for them in return. When it was all said and done, they told me they wanted to draft me ahead of the other guys. I liked knowing what was going to happen prior to it happening. This leads to reason two. 2. Consulted on Moves: I was asked how I felt about trading for Green prior to us making the trade. I like being involved on stuff like this because it is very easy to end up on a team where the GM is over thinking something and making moves just for the sake of making moves. Green has made some GOAT potential players here and even though he says he may be just a welfare player here, I don't believe him and feel like I can help light a fire under his ass. I also feel like if I were against trading for Green, that Toast would have listened to my opinion and at least taken it into consideration. 3. Active LR: Rebuilding isn't fun, but having an active locker room makes up for it. There has been constant discussion going on in ours and it helps to know that people are committed to the same cause, since we aren't cup contenders this season. I know going #1 hurt my chances at winning a championship early in my career, but it allows me to most likely win one as a main component rather than a minor piece.
