It was close at the end but the Riga Reign are off to the playoffs again! We’ll be taking on Davos again in the first round and it will certainly be interesting to see how the series plays out considering everything that went down last season.

Towards the end of the season, the team proved that they can go to war with the best. Multiple wins over both Toronto and Cologne show that this team has a good depth going. While we may not be legitimate superstars yet, there is the potential there for this team to be a Cinderella story again, which is really exciting.

Ilya isn’t the best goalie by any means, but he does have his games where he performs like the best in the league. If we can get the top performances from Ilya and the same lights-out play that we’ve seen from Maverick and others, we have a shot at beating Davos again. Even after that I feel like we would have a shot against Cologne as well. Who knows how far this team could run? 

Playoffs should be fun and is the chance for Riga to send Faux off with a bang. We’ll do what we can to win, and people should expect Riga to make a run.
