Banackock 8,049
For the second time in the tenure of Bears GM, Blake Campbell, the organization has had fairly shitty luck when it comes to the VHL Entry Draft Lottery. For the second straight season, the team lost out on the top end players and were shifted into 3rd overall in an extremely weak draft class. When approached this morning to talk about the draft and the direction of the team during the off season, this is what the GM had to say. "It's unfortunate that it had to go that way and yeah, it does put us behind slightly, however, we're not going to let it control the direction of our team. As I've stated prior and will continue to consistently direct to the media, we have numerous strong pieces that we consider our core that we are building around. If we somehow manage to attract Free Agents this season, this could very well be our year. Our conference is getting weaker, we have numerous pieces that could attract and positively affect free agents, we have the money and resources, as well as available roster spots to make sure their development, production and happiness with the Bears are met. My excitement for our future has remained the same and my confidence has only gotten stronger".
