Vikings Look to Bounce Back with Major FA

Recommended Posts

Christopher Miller made a pretty bold statement at today's press conference: "We will be competing as soon as the upcoming season."  Wait, isn't this the team who easily finished dead last in the league last year?  "We struggled last season but we have a lot of money to spend, some very good young talent and some history on our side."  The history that Miller speaks of is the fact that Vasteras won their only cups in Season 1 and Season 26.  Twenty-five seasons apart would mean that if they were to win next season, the trend would continue.  However, that's where the GM of the Vikings expects it to stop.  "We are going to be major contenders for a long time and the European Conference will need to realize that to get to the finals, they will have a very significant road block in the way."

Bold words, but he once said this about the Americans too, and he was right.  The Vikings are definitely labouring after a tough season that really only saw Atticus Von Braxton IV, Diana Maxwell and Essian Ravenwing be productive.  With that being said, that won't stop the GM who probably has the most to spend this off-season and is willing to spend it all to make the team a contender.  With names like Koponen, Velvet, Unassisted, Muller, Kohler, Hamilton, Clegane and Covington...how could you blame him? This is easily one of the brightest free agent groups in quite some time, and the team who is arguably making the most noise is Stockholm.  While Helsinki, Calgary and Seattle have all made it clear that they will be savages during this off-season, the Vikings will look to steal their thunder and add some major pieces to their squad.

Why join them? They have experience at the head, a great long-term plan that includes competing now and a ridiculous amount of money to spend.  Why join them? Why not?
