Smarch 3,153
League Leaders Although only eight games have passed since the fourth installment of, enough has changed for us to take another quick look at the goals and assists leaders in the Victory Hockey League. In the fifth edition of the league leaders, we’ll see a return of a familiar face to the top and a steady hand still going strong. With fewer than twenty games left to play in the Season Fifty-One regular season, will these be the men to take home the Kevin Brooks and Alexander Beketov Trophies come seasons’ end? Previous Leader in Goals: Tyson Kohler (43 goals; 50 games)/ Zach Parechkin (43 goals; 50 games) Current Leader in Goals: Zach Parechkin (53 goals; 58 games) Parechkin makes his solo return to the top of the VHL goal list. Parechkin was the leader in goals in the first installments of the leader-board when Parechkin and the Legion had played only six games. Although Parechkin hasn’t always been on top of the list, he has been hovering near the top three spots all season long. Parechkin has been lights out in a seasons many experts though the Legion may not be able to compete, but alongside lifelong teammate Max Mølholt, Parechkin has already hit the century mark in points for the second time in his career. Parechkin is likely on his way to match or beat his career high in points of 115 posted in Season Forty-nine. Previous Assists Leader: Black Velvet Black Velvet (67 Assists; 50 games) Current Assists Leader: Black Velvet (77 Assists; 58 games) Velvet would be the steady hand at the top of the list we eluded too early in the article. Since the beginning of the season and the beginning of the league leaders’ article, Velvet has been leading the race for the Alexander Beketov Trophy. Although Velvet has found himself on the top of the leader-board for fifty-eight games now, it hasn’t always been easy to stay there, especially down the recent stretch run to the playoffs. Cologne Express superstar Phil Hamilton has been on the heels of Velvet all season long, closing the gap as of last night to one assist. Velvet will need to keep focus in the upcoming weeks if he wants to take home the award, as the games will have less and less meaning for the Wranglers as the season winds down. *For Weinstein* Edited November 2, 2016 by Smarch Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/34830-leaderboard-5/ Share on other sites
