League Leaders

In the second installment of the VHLM leader leaders, we will once again take a look at the two players leading the way in goals and assist in the VHL minor leagues. It has been awhile since we last looked at the leaders, as most teams around the league have played fifteen or more games since then.

Previous Leader in Goals: Jack Kraken (40 goals; 41 games)

Current Leader in Goals: Jack Kraken (55 goals; 57 games)

 

Kraken once again finds himself at the top of the VHLM leaderboard for goals. The VHLM veteran has a good understanding of the way the game should be played at the minor league level in the VHL, cutting through most teams’ defences night in and night out. Kraken was acquired by the Bern Royals at the beginning of the season, a move that has paid off wonderfully for the Royals and Kraken. Krakens’ 119 points on the season are second in the league to team-mate Maksym Barnyashev. What will Kraken have in store offensively for the remainder of the season and into the playoffs here in Season Fifty-One?

Previous Leader in Assists: Maksym Barnyashev (52 assists; 41 games)

Current Leader in Assists: Francis Zach Morgan (71 assists; 57 games)

The assists leader in the VHLM has changed since he last dove into the topic, although Barnyashev isn’t far behind current leader Francis Zach Morgan. Morgan has done all his damage on the season to this point for the Yukon Rush, but thanks to a last minute deadline deal, Morgan will be taking his craft to Bern where Barnyashev also resides. The two have been neck and neck all season in the race for the Vladimir Boomchenko Trophy, with the two now teammates the battle may turn into a friendly wager.
