League Leaders

In the third and final installment of the VHLM leaderboard, we’ll see a change on top of one leaderboard to end the season, while the other leader ended the season on a high note. While the VHLM may not get the press that may think it needs or deserves, there was some decent hockey played in the minors this season. Hopefully these men on the leaderboard will make some more memories when the playoffs finally kick off.

Previous Leader in Goals: Jack Kraken (55 goals; 57 games) 

Current Leader in Goals: Jack Kraken (66 goals; 70 games)

Kraken has made the most of his time so far in the VHLM. After a successful season with Brampton last year in Season Fifty, Kraken was traded to the Bern Royals. The Royals believed they had the roster to take home the Founders Cup and Kraken was the perfect offensive threat to help catapult the club to the finals. The Kraken trade paid off wonderfully for the Royals, as Kraken will take home the Alexander Chershenko Trophy this season as the league’s top goal scorer.  

Previous Leader in Assists: Francis Zach Morgan (71 assists; 57 games)

Current Leader in Assists: Maksym Barnyashev (81 Assists; 70 games)

When we last looked into the league leader in assists in the VHLM, leader at the time Francis Zach Morgan had just announced his intentions to retire come seasons’ end. Since that time Morgan’s’ play slipped slightly in part to his announcement, as well as being traded to a team that needed his services less. Another Royal now finds himself on top of the list and subsequently the winner of the Vladimir Boomchenko Trophy. Maksym Barnyashev has enjoyed what will likely be his last season in the VHLM as he put up an amazing sixty-two goals to go along with his league leading eight-one assists. Barnyashev will hope to keep up the amazing production as the Royals now get ready to suit up for the VHLM playoffs.
