Phil Hamilton is desperately trying to hang on to some hope of progressing into the VHL Finals this season, which would coincidentally earn him his 6th Terence Fong trophy. However, that is not the goal, as he has his eyes set firmly on the Continental Cup.

“We fell just short of reaching the finals last season, after a game seven loss to Davos, and I know that if we had made it, we would have won the Cup. Ever since draft day I’ve wanted three cups in my career and I started off great with two consecutive ones, but every season since we’ve fallen just short. With Calgary being as dominant as they have been, this season’s not looking extremely likely either. That is all on the basis of us getting passed Riga, who are an extremely strong side and have had our number more often than not this season. But since I only have two shots left at a Cup, it’s “bar-down” time and I will play with more ferocity than ever before.”
