Aleksei Federov, the Russian Defender who suited up and won the championship last season with the Bratislava Watchmen has officially went 2nd Overall in the S53 VHLM Dispersal draft! Though many likely expected him to go within the top few, very few probably had him pinned down in the top 3. Adding onto this, Brampton owned the first top 3 picks, so essentially, you could call any one of those 3 players your 1st overall and group them in the bunch. Immediately after being picked and making his way back off the stage, media caught up with Federov to catch his reaction.

"Feels really good to be going to Brampton. The roster looks good and we have a solid goalie in Marcus King. I'm gonna do my best to keep pucks away from him and continue to work on my defensive side of the game, as well as sharpening my puck handling a little bit more. I expect this season to be an improvement from last season and to continue the alright trend I seen in last seasons playoffs."
