Corco 1,237
Adjusting to the VHLM: Rudolph Schmeckeldorf Rudolph Schmeckeldorf getting into a boards battle with Ottawa Lynx forward Motherfucker Sharpe SASKATOON, Saskatchewan - Through thirteen games, S54 Swiss draftee Rudolph Schmeckeldorf isn't exactly putting up huge numbers, although he isn't exactly going invisible either. So far he has 3 goals and 5 assists for a total of 8 points, whilst playing on the Wild's first line alongside centerman Johnny Styles and fellow winger Austin Hickey V. Despite scoring at slightly above about a half-PPG per game pace, Schmeckeldorf is situated towards the bottom of Saskatoon's team scoring; he is only above Trazan Apansson, who has 7 points. Schmeckeldorf is also receiving first unit power play minutes alongside his linemates and top defensive pairing Brent Hardy and Aeschylus Jigglejawns CXXXVII. The team as a whole is ranked 4th in terms of power play efficiency with a rate of 17.31%, and they are the last team above the league average of 16.72%. Where Saskatoon shines however, is their Penalty Kill. The Wild are currently leading the VHLM in terms of Penalty Kill efficiency with a rate of 94.87%, a staggering 11% above the league average. This is not mostly due to Schmeckeldorf's play, but rather the excellent shutdown defensive skills of Jigglejawns and Brent Hardy. Critics may say that such a high PK percentage is due to the Wild not really taking many penalties, since they average a 2nd best of 7 penalty minutes per game. The Wild currently sit at third place in the VHLM standings with a 10-3-0 record, only behind the high-octane offenses of the Ottawa Lynx and Yukon Rush. Both of the aforementioned teams have scored a combined total 122 goals in 24 total games, with a ridiculous average of more than 5 goals per game. Not only that, but both teams have only given up 17 goals, which means that they only give up an average of 1.4 goals per game. These two teams are the only teams that the Wild have lost to so far; one loss coming from the Rush and two coming from the Lynx. The Rush spanked the Wild 6-1 in their game, being led by the four goal game from Fredinamijs Krigars and a hat trick of assists from Apollo Aho. In the first meeting between the Wild and the Lynx, the boys from Ottawa drubbed the Wild 6-0, behind 3 point games from Fook Yu, John Locke, and Motherfucker Sharpe. Saskatoon's goaltender Torstein Ironside received little help from his defense, as he was peppered with 31 shots. However that amount of shots pales in comparison to the next game between the two teams, a game in which the Lynx once again made the Wild their bitches, defeating them 6-1. In this game Motherfucker Sharpe completely took control, scoring a total of 4 goals. Ottawa player Tomas Syndergaard hooked Schmeckeldorf, who promptly responded by boarding him, earning himself a trip to the sin bin as well as a hearing from the VHLM Head of Player Safety, Smarch. Thankfully, Smarch is a pretty chill dude and he let Rudolph off the hook.
