Skating

As alluded to, his skating ability, in particular his ability to stop and start and get a quick burst of acceleration, is fantastic and allows him to be so quick to open lanes or loose pucks. Playmaking

Excellent playmaking instincts, vision and passing skills…puts puck where his linemates can best utilize the chance. He creates a lot of scoring chances by making great passes after gaining/maintaining possession along the boards

 

Stickhandling

An incredible stickhandler who thrives in possession and can make defenders look foolish…competitive and driven…poise is a major standout attribute…dangerous when given time, especially on the power play as he takes full control of the play from the half wall with the puck, using his impressive agility, hands and vision to make plays.

 

Cons :

Outside life :

At the beginning of the year, he struggled to find his game, and seemed to be putting too much pressure on himself. His speed is electric, but the creativity was being stifled because he was forcing plays that weren’t there.

 

Intensity :

Perhaps the biggest concern for Cornerstone is the wavering intensity in the defensive end. He’s a sparkplug in the offensive end, but he needs to find a way to transfer that to the backcheck and to play in his own end.

 

Physicality :

Despite being a player who gets his body into dirty area, he won’t lay down the shoulder on you. However, that prevents him from gaining unnecessary penalty minutes.
