Smarch 3,150
Americans surprisingly not horrible The New York Americans came into this year not expecting much for the franchise, which is only in its second season of its latest re-build, but so far expectations are being surpassed early on in Season Thirty-Six. The Americans currently sit one point out of a playoff position, a place that has been changing hands between the Americans and Seattle Bears all season long. The franchise is being led by newly acquired forward Keiji Toriyama who came to the league during an off-season trade with the Calgary Wranglers. The journeyman centerman leads the team in goals with fourteen, assists with eighteen, and points with thirty-two. A huge surprise for the Americans would have to be the play so far of rookie forward Lucas Smith, who has put up twelve goals and eleven assists so far on the young campaign which is good enough for second in the rookie scoring race.
