Tagger 2,722
*Wrote this on Thursday so some of the details in this article no longer apply* With Ky generating some superhuman luck this week by allowing me to earn points in all of my strongest areas (Media and VHL.com writing) in addition to winning a doubles week in the lottery on Wednesday, things are looking very positive right now for my career with the Ukrainian defenseman. However, while my TPE luck is well and truly in, my continued lack of luck in regards of having a good VHLM experience may be set to continue. I’m writing this article on Thursday as I’d already done the draw for my random point task by then and it’s been 24 hours now since I created and I’ve not received any offers for my player just yet, which doesn’t seem like the best start for my VHLM career and hopefully isn’t the normal experience for a new VHL member, because if that’s the case, it might be easy to understand why players wind up leaving the league with only 30 TPE to their name. This is something that probably wouldn’t be as frustrating if I’d had at least one decent VHLM season under my belt but I haven’t. This wait to join a team reminds me of my wait with my first player, Edwin Encarnacion, who no team made a claim for prior to him entering the VHLM Draft. Despite being drafted 18th overall in the VHLM Dispersal Draft, I went on to out-earn twelve of the seventeen players taken ahead of me in my sole minor league season. That was still not enough though to convince anyone managing a competing team to acquire my services and I was stuck on a Saskatoon Wild roster that, activity wise, consisted solely of myself and Conner Low (Smarch). While my interactions with Smarch were fun, it was a bit of a joke that us two together combined for six pages of LR material while our GM (Jackim) contributed about 3 posts total. Following that season, the site was DDOSed and we were moved to this new forum and I remember that Sterling was going to up the VHLM cap to 200 (it was 175 at the time) as compensation, but I saw that more of a threat than anything given the previous season and made sure to get all the TPE I needed to get the hell out of the VHLM ASAP. Unfortunately, with the earning potential of Ky being directly related to luck, there’s no way for me to take my earning potential up to a second gear like I did back then, and especially with just 30 TPE to start with, I may have to consider entering the VHL earlier than I perhaps should with Ky should my experience be like it was with my first player. *For Ky Edited May 8, 2017 by YEAH!stlemania Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/40263-claimed-reminder-of-encarnacion/ Share on other sites
