diamond_ace 3,112
For a player who has never played hockey before in his life, you wouldn't know it from seeing Evan R. Lawson play his first career game with the Las Vegas Aces. His career began against the Oslo Storm, last year's defending champions, and the Aces would go on to win the game, 5-4. The second goal for Las Vegas, and the second goal total in the game, was a power play goal scored by Lawson, the first of his career - not only first power play goal, but first goal entirely. It was assisted by the defensive pairing of Charles Cote and Joona Makela. The game had no particular relevance to the total, it was an early score builder, not the game winner or anything like that, but for a guy who hasn't played, it's still nice to see his name pop up on the score sheet. We should be seeing many more goals by Lawson in his career, if his development continues as it has been.
