Fire Tortorella 2,653
As the VHL grows older and more members join the league, a great proportion of the member base are not considered "old" members and haven't been here since the beginning. Hell, I joined in S24ish, and I'm considered a pretty old member. Having these "new" members join the league is obviously a great thing, as each member brings their own experiences and set of ideas to the league. With this, the importance of league's history/previous generations generally loses importance with each wave of members. These new ideas and challenging the way the VHL operates is extremely important to keeping the league relevant and thriving. However, these new ideas need to be balanced by the fact that as a whole, the way the VHL is structured works and differentiates us from other leagues - 11 man rosters where everyone gets significant minutes, shorter careers/higher turnover, etc. We need to keep in mind that progress for the sake of progress isn't productive. When new systems or rules are presented that are better than what is currently in place, we do generally implement them (sometimes eventually), but the idea that "this is the way we do things" is sometimes a legitimate reason to not change. Don't take this too seriously as it's mostly word vomit for 2 TPE, but just something I want to throw out there regarding the opinion of at least this old fart in the league. omgitshim 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/50603-balancing-change-and-tradition/ Share on other sites
