bdu754 22
A post on Reddit has gone viral overnight after it showed Ottawa Lynx third line centre Jerome Mitchell, working at the counter of a Burger King restaurant next to Parliament Hill. The user who posted the picture, Reddit_Is_For_Nonces, who would like to remain anonymous, told local news that he was walking into the Burger King for his lunch break, when he snapped the picture. "I walked into the Burger King restaurant, eager to eat my favorite Whopper with extra onions, when all of a sudden, I see this hulking guy working the register, and my first thought in my head was: 'Isn't that guy Jerome Mitchell, that kid that Ottawa drafted in like the last round of the draft?'. Ironically, he was the guy who took my order, but not after I took that photo of him. He was a cool guy, and I didn't ask for his autograph, although part of me did want to, despite the fact I had nothing for him to sign, and nothing for him to sign with." The post has since garnered over two thousand upvotes. Reddit_Is_For_Nonces, whose account previously had -69 karma, has had his karma count skyrocket to nearly 1900. "I used to be a troll, but after I got all of these upvotes, I guess I'll stop trolling and see how many upvotes I can get." Mitchell, 15, was an absolute teenage phenomenon in his native province of British Columbia, playing for a local Midget AAA team when he should have been playing Bantam hockey. His skills in that level, it seems, have not transferred to the VHLM. In 18 games so far with Ottawa, Mitchell has scored only 1 goal, and recorded just 2 measly points playing for the Lynx, despite averaging over 15 minutes of ice time per game. Only a few days ago, Mitchell was seen yelling at reporters following the end of a frustrating loss to the Halifax 21st. Mitchell also proclaimed to the reporters that he was "a freaking bust", before knocking down a bucket full of pucks. Mitchell later gave out an apology to the reporters at a press conference, where another reporter jokingly asked Mitchell what he'd recommend at Burger King, referring to the Reddit post. Mitchell stood up for a second, staring at the reporter, before he shamelessly replied to the reporter: "If you want to make the most of your money, buy a double whopper, and make it a meal". Mitchell then walked out of the conference room. Mitchell's future in the VHL might not be looking so bright after these past few days. Unless he can get his act together both on and off the ice, there's no way he'll make it anywhere in the league. As for his career at Burger King, a spokesperson on Twitter, upon being asked about Mitchell's employment there, responded "We respect our employees' privacy, and as such we will not answer this question." As for Mitchell's team, the Ottawa Lynx are currently 11-6-1, and they appear to be possible contenders for the playoffs, and also could possibly be this season's absolute dark horse. We'll have to see if Jerome Mitchell will play a huge role in the team's success this season. Edited August 25, 2018 by bdu754 spacing was an issue, fixed it.
