Gucci Garrop Q/A continued

We are here with top prospect Gucci Garrop again to answer a couple questions and hopefully improve his draft stock. The center prospect out of Toronto is looking to be a top pick in the VHML draft for this upcoming season.

 

Q: Who do you model your game most alike?

 

A: I want to model my game after two of my favorite players; Zach Hyman and Auston Matthews. I love Hyman's work ethic and his ability to dig pucks out the corner. I think he is one of the most underrated players because his defense is undervalued. On the other hand, Auston Matthews is a full rink player. He can carry the puck up the rink, score, pass, and defend. My goal is to be the best of both players.

 

Q: How long do you expect it will take you to reach the VHL?

 

A: I will stay down in the minors for as long as it takes but I do not think it should take that long. I am happy to stay in the minors and develop the skills but I have an insane work ethic that should allow me to reach the VHL in no time. In addition, I consider myself a team player with a good all around game that will make me valuable to any team that decides to draft me.
