Rylan Peace selected 8th overall. [VHML Dispersal Draft]

Recommended Posts

SASKATOON, SASK. -- Going in the first round of a draft - even the VHLM dispersal draft - is always an experience young players seek, but sometimes it just isn’t meant to be; the potential of a later round pick becoming a steal is entirely determined by hard working individuals who shown intermittent signs of high level of skills, and through hard work and development, those picks become core pieces of any roster moving forward.

Rylan Peace was selected in the second round by the Saskatoon Wild, going eighth overall in the S63 Dispersal Draft, and now he has a chance to prove he can be a steal for the Saskatoon Wild as a early second round draft pick - and is expected to go into the third round or later, should he slide, in the VHL draft too. "I'm determined to play my best where ever I go and when ever I'm selected, be it the VHLM or VHL. I'm a hockey player, I just want to play the game and not worry too much about the political landscape behind it right now." Peace said.

“I’m going to miss the guys in Halifax. It was an awesome place to play, even if we struggled as a team in the finals to come up with any victory against the Lynx. Anyone thinking of playing on Glade's team should, you'll enjoy your time in Halifax; just buy a truck and you'll be set for the winters there too.” Peace said on playing for Halifax, which his time with has come to an end after the dispersal draft.

“I’m certain some players, like Glade and Moltke, are going to have fantastic careers in the VHL. They’re talented guys, and they’re going to be core elements for their teams. I know that Moltke will be playing for the Calgary Wranglers next season, so that’s exciting, hopefully that can help Calgary go for a repeat performance!” Peace added.

Peace collected eleven points as a member of the Halifax 21st - five goals and six assists - with one assist, unfortunately for Peace, scored during a rather disappointing individual playoff performance.
