CowboyinAmerica 2,889
Seattle -- The early part of the season is going swimmingly for the Seattle Bears - in what was expected to be a year of growth for the team, Seattle has gone 6-2 in its first eight games, and one of those losses against Quebec was originally a win before Men in Black agents descended upon the arena (citation needed). And the return of former MVP Gabriel McAllister has been a big catalyst to that attack, leading Seattle with 7 goals and 16 points through 8 games. But what has caught the eye of many observers around the league is McAllister's physicality on top of his playmaking ability: The forward currently leads the league with 58 hits, 10 more than closest competitor Leph Twinger despite playing one fewer game. At his current pace of 7.25 hits per game, McAllister is on pace to finish with 522 hits for the season, shattering the record of 461 hits that he himself set just two seasons ago. For McAllister, it's still early, but the standout play has been encouraging. "I said before the season it was going to be my final year, and I didn't know whether depreciation would catch up with me. It feels nice to be playing well though, and maybe even I can get lucky enough to go out with an award or two and a deep playoff run. I only have one more shot, so time to give it everything I have."
