VHL Playoffs, A 4-Way Dice Roll

It's been an interesting season in Season 63, especially in the big leagues. While we really only had one playoff race on the go, as Helsinki and Toronto were battling it out for the final Wildcard spot until about the last week of the season. Helsinki was seen as the weaker team in general, but they kept it close enough to keep it interesting for much of the season.

A big reason there wasn't a lot of other races this season was the combined competitive play of the leagues three top teams. While Riga clinched the Victory Cup with 110 points, Seattle had 109 and Calgary 106. The only real odd part of the equation has been the slow decline of Quebec, who were a game away from winning the Continental Cup last season. Quebec only finished with 87 points. A big part of that though is how the team fared against the majority of the top 3 teams during the season.

The close relativity in standings between the top three teams, and general quality of each roster, Quebec included, could create a pretty parity high VHL playoffs. Giving the edge to one team over the other pretty much comes down to team match ups, and even then over the course of a 7 game series a lot can happen. Quebec of course will have to first beat Toronto in the best of 3 Wilcard, where the winner will move on to face Riga. Seattle and Calgary are already a confirmed date for the Semi-Final round. Realistically speaking, any of the top 3 teams and Quebec winning the Cup this season wouldn't come as a surprise to many. It almost create a 4 way dice roll, provided of course Quebec can topple Toronto.
