Peace preparing for Riga.

CALGARY, ALBERTA -- Rylan Peace has returned home after perhaps the busiest offseason in his life, but he switches from being a hockey player to being a son, an uncle, and a brother. Though media from the youngster has been limited, we do know he's spoiling his family with contract money these holidays - a new car, ribbon atop the roof; a new house, money neatly wrapped up in a box with zip-ties. 'Giving back to those who gave to me all these years,' he claims. Hockey is officially out of sight, out of mind as the Riga Rookie enjoys the holidays, but before caught his flight back to Calgary his work ethic was perhaps the greatest gift he could give to Riga and management.

 

Rylan Peace came up from the minors during their post-season run, however the league rejected the call-up due to a recent rule change that prohibited roster movements during the playoffs. Undeterred, Peace forged forward every day attempting to improve himself and how reliable of a forward he could be as Riga chases another championship - Peace manning the second line right wing position.

 

His shot is more accurate, his passing more precise. He's faster on his skates and stronger in the gym, but most significantly we've noticed a huge improvement in his defensive game. Scouts suggest the majority of his off-season training was focused on defensive awareness, positioning and responsibilites.

 

Our prediction might be a reach, a hope, but he's in a strong position to win Top Rookie at the conclusion of S64.  

 

Crimson - Pajari - Peace, now that line seems deadly. We'll have to wait and see, however, but not too long. Season S64 begins on the 26th.
